The momma compiled a list of her favorite macintosh software and asked me to pass it on. Lots of cool and helpful stuff!
- BookEnds: bibliography and reference management. Cheaper than EndNote and lots of features. She has had to email tech and customer support a few times in the 5 years she has owned this. Not just with problems, but questions of usage, etc. She usually gets a response within an hour…..
- 1PassWord: password manager with auto-fill and isync compatible. also synchronizes passwords stored on various browsers.
- BookDog: sort, manage, migrate, synchronize & verify bookmarks between and within different browsers
- iSync: synchronization software that is part of Mac OSX
- iTunes: music player/store
- Jiggler: free app that jiggles the cursor every few minutes to keep the screen saver from coming on. very useful for presentations
- VooDooPad: hypertext and wiki notepad, free and paid versions
- Notebook: outlining and organizing information manager
- Scrivener: word processor and project management tool
- SketchBox: stickies with reminders, alarms, drawing, and screenshots! very cool….also free!
- Skim: .pdf reader & note-taker for scientific papers & free!

I am trying to figure out how “press this” works. Anyway, TechBay has a comprehensive listing of mac shortcuts that I want to keep at hand. So it says to right click on the link to bookmark or add to favorites. The only option I get is “copy link”. So, that is what I did, then I pasted it right here. Press It - Everybody Loves Gringo this is not a good post, so i will keep it private for now….
ok, that did not work at all. so I just went back to the TechBay page and right clicked on “press this” and copied and pasted it here. let us see what happens! Press This
ok, that did not work either! whimper! What is press this for anyway? i thought it was a way to add content from another blog to your post. But this is what I got:
Error 404 - Page Not Found
Sorry - this page cannot be found. Why not to search our archives?
Ok, back to the old fashioned way I guess: TechBay’s where to find mac keyboard shortcuts
