My top three dog toys

22 Jun 2008

Drum-roll please……

Topping the charts at numeros uno, dos, y tres:

Rip ‘Em Tiger and Cow. The legs and head are attached to a soft squeaky body with velcro. I love the sound of the limbs and head being ripped from the body. I also enjoy mouthing the body to make it squeak. This is one of the rare toys that I play with often without destroying it.

Hide-A-Squirrel. This is another plush toy. It consists of a stump with 3 holes. Three squirrels hide inside the stump and I either fish them out with my pointy snoot, or I just shake them out. It’s a blast!

Tug-a-Jug. This is a sweet one. The momma puts kibble inside of this bullet-proof plastic jug. I can smell the food through the tiny, salt shaker holes in the bottom of the jug…but I have to get the food out of the top end. Quite a puzzle for my little whippet brain! There’s a rope dangling from the top end so I can grab it and sling it around. When I toss it onto the wood floor, it makes really loud noise that makes the cats jump and run! Hilarious!

The End!

The Rip ‘Em Tiger and Cow..nope…can’t have that at my house. The legs would be found outside, or somewhere else I can’t find them. When I give the dogs their Kong, I usually can’t find at least one for two months.

Are you playing with the stump with squirrels? Sissy’s favorite toy is a stuffed squeaky squirrel.

Yes. The squirrels try to hide in the stump and I either pull or shake them out. In the top photo, you can barely see a squirrel in the hole, and in the bottom picture you can see the tip of my nose through the same hole. The squirrels are squeaky. The momma needs to get a refill because 2 of the squirrels are now missing their tails!

Are you NaBloPoMo-ing it for March? I see your button over there on the side bar.

Feel free to visit my backyard anytime. You can play Hide-a-Live-Squirrel. Now, that’s a blast. :-)

the squirrel toys definitely would not last long in my house. my two dogs go through soft toys in minutes. care to share where you purchased the tug-a-jug toy? I just went shopping at http://www.bigtimedogtoys.net on the web and got the nylabone red truck tire and dino bone. the tug a jug sounds like it would be fun and maybe would keep my girls busy.

We got the tug-a-jug from amazon.com. Thanks for the link to big time dog toys…we’ll have to take a look around there!
