21 Feb 2008
Hola, I found a post at lifehacker.com with info on the secret (sort of) weekly discount schedule at Target.
- Monday – Electronics, Kids’ Clothing, Stationary (cards, giftwrap, etc)
- Tuesday – Domestics, Women’s Clothing, PETS SUPPLIES, Market (food)
- Wednesday – Men’s Clothing, Toys, Lawn and Garden, Health and Beauty
- Thursday – House Wares, Lingerie, Sporting Goods, Shoes, Music/Movies, Books, Decor, Luggage
- Friday – Auto, Cosmetics, Hardware, Jewelry
Some of the comments provided further tips.
- The prices don’t automatically update. A person from the pricing team must scan at least one item with the specific SKU for it to get marked down. If the item you are buying was hidden or lost and hasn’t been marked down in awhile, you could get a 90% clearance discount even if it currently scans at 15%. Prescan all of your clearance items to make sure they have been marked down.
- Clearance items are always at the back endcaps unless then entire aisle is on clearance.
- Best time to look for clearance items is in the mid to late morning (after the pricing team has gone through.
Don’t forget that Tuesday is the most important day of the week!
Happy Shopping!!
The End!
